Dean is an experienced litigation and appellate attorney, spending his entire career defending insurance companies and representing Florida commercial and residential property owners in breach of contract and statutory bad faith causes of action.

Dean spent the first part of his career at a large insurance defense firm in Florida where he represented some of the largest Florida and out-of-state insurance carriers writing policies in Florida. He then went on to build a practice of representing Florida residential and commercial property owners on insurance coverage issues and bad faith causes of action. Dean has resolved hundreds of claims on behalf of his clients, including prevailing multiple times at summary judgment and appeals. He has focused his practice on adapting to recent changes in Florida law and trying to develop efficient ways to resolve claims in his clients’ best interests.

Dean is currently licensed to practice in both Florida state and federal courts. Dean obtained his law degree and LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law. While not working, Dean spends most of his time focused on his family and son’s travel hockey schedule, as well as being an avid fan of Detroit Red Wings hockey.

Notable Accomplishments:

Post hurricane losses: Has represented hundreds of policyholders in obtaining favorable insurance coverage and benefits paid for hurricane related damages.
Has represented hundreds of business and property owners in construction defect, manufacturing and design defect cases to successful conclusion.
Defended the general contractor in a multi-party construction, design, product defect case where the roof trusses on a 4-story cathedral roof failed causing serious personal injury.
Defended the manufacturer of grinding wheels which were alleged to have been defectively designed causing them to explode in certain “cut-off” wheel applications.
Defended a wrongful death case against a local municipality which was named as a target defendant for failure to properly maintain the trees and shrubs at an alleged “dangerous railroad crossing.”
Has successfully handled hundreds of motor vehicle accident cases.
Represented the manufacturer of the location transponder beacon used on a private aircraft that malfunctioned when the plane crashed in a remote snow-covered mountain.
Represented tire manufacturer for product defect when the tire tread separated causing catastrophic accident and injuries.
Represented the manufacturer of the safety brake on a horse trailer that failed when the trailer became unhitched and plowed head-on into a motor vehicle traveling in the opposite lane of travel killing all occupants of another motor vehicle.
